The Chris Ruiz Foundation

At the age of 19 Christopher Ruiz was tragically taken from us in a boating accident that resulted in his drowning.  Chris was not wearing a life jacket while the boat was moving since it is not required by law for them to be worn while boats are in motion.  We are patiently waiting for our State Representatives to make a change.  Thank you to State Representative Denise Villalobos for leading our want to change this law.  We along with State Rep. Denise Villalobos are supporting State Representative Philip Cortez in his filing of HB 2084 that was filed on 1/24/2025. Our mission is to educate our community and our surrounding communities on what we can do individually to ensure we are all safe in our waters.
